What is the difference between total payment, partial payment, and advance payment

Total Payment

It is the full payment of the invoice after the closing day. If your invoice closed at $ 700.00, for example, you will pay that amount all at once.

Partial Payment

When I choose to make a partial payment, what does Mobills do? He closes the invoice (January/18) and will create an expense of $200.00 (Total invoice - which was partially paid) on the February/18 invoice of Card A, that is, on the next invoice.

Some important details about the partial payment of the invoice:

• When making a partial payment, the invoice is closed. You can no longer add expenses to that invoice;
• The invoice expenses that were partially paid will be merged into the expense screen and will become a entry called 'Partial Payment';
• It is possible to pay the invoice partially only once.

Advance Payment

Some credit cards offer the possibility to pay the amount in advance of an invoice that is still open so that the amount of the invoice is less when it is closed.

Imagine the same $700.00. Suppose you have some extra money and you already want to pay part of the next invoice and pay $200.00. This will make your next invoice worth $500.00 when it arrives!

Details about this behavior:

• Paying an amount in advance does not make the invoice close, you will still have to pay what is left of the invoice when the payment day arrives;
• You can make an advance payment more than once on the same invoice, different from the partial payment;
• If your final invoice amount is 0 (zero), the invoice will close on its own on the closing day;
• If you have credit on the invoice, it will be transferred to the next invoice as a credit from the previous invoice.
