One of the demands that started to arise is the need to register third-party transactions that cannot have an impact on our personal financial control. Therefore, we decided to bring an option for any registration on our platform.
We call this option to Ignore Transactions.
If at the end of this article you want to better understand how to ignore your transactions, check out the two articles below:
- I made a purchase on my card that is not mine, how to register?
- I have an income or an expense that is on the bank statement but is not mine, how to register?
-
What are ignored transactions?
Ignored transactions are a logging option that prevents ignored transactions from interfering with your performance analysis on the platform. This option came to meet a demand that aims to record expenses that are not yours, but that is on your account statement and/or on your credit card invoice.
-
What is the main purpose of this functionality?
The main objective of the option to ignore transactions is to make it possible to register transactions that do not influence your financial control on the platform, but that is part of your history, such as those expenses that friends or family make on our credit cards, that money that they keep in our bank account, etc.
Therefore, these transactions will be ignored in all reports analyzing your performance on the platform.
-
How to identify ignored transactions?
Ignored transactions have a different anatomy from the common ones so that this identification is facilitated. Ignored ones have a standard gray icon, a lower opacity, the transaction value is passed through and they have an informative icon, with an attention sign.
-
How will this option to ignore transactions help me?
As we said earlier, the main objective of this option is to prevent third-party transactions from affecting your performance analysis on the platform. Therefore, the analysis of these transactions will be even easier and identifiable, making your personal financial control not be impacted by transactions that are not yours, as it happened before this functionality. Your analyzes will be more and more personal, without interference from third parties.
-
Will Ignored transactions affect my balance?
Ignored transactions will not affect your performance analysis on the platform, such as graphs, monthly balance, budgets, etc. Therefore, only the invoice amount and the account balance will be affected by these transactions.
If there are ignored transactions on invoices, they must still be paid normally, as they will be added to the amount of the invoice. Likewise, your balance will also take them into account, as there is a need for the actual mirroring of your balance and invoice on the platform. The real balance of your account and your invoice must always be mirrored on the platform, as in "real life". Therefore, they will take into account your ignored transactions.
-
Will ignored transactions affect my Graphs and Reports?
As we said before, ignored transactions will not be taken into account in your performance reviews, as in Graphs and Reports. Therefore, they will only be taken into account in your balance and invoices, if they are credit card expenses. This is because we need to have your account statements (balance) and invoices mirrored on the platform. These two pieces of information must be identical to "real life".
-
Will ignored transactions affect my invoice?
Ignored transactions, will affect your invoices if they are credit card charges, as well as your balances. Other information such as graphs, reports, budgets, and others will not be affected, as they are the analysis of your personal performance on the platform.
-
What types of transactions can I ignore?
You can ignore transactions on Mobills by creating a transaction manually and then activating the option to ignore these transactions. It is possible to ignore them when registering if they are common. However, credit card installment and repeated transactions can only be ignored after they are created by editing them. It is not possible to ignore fixed transactions, whether they are common or credit card transactions.
-
Can I ignore imported transactions via spreadsheet or OFX file?
When importing any file, it is not possible to indicate the Ignored transactions at first. Only after the transactions have been imported, the option to skip the transactions can be edited and enabled.
